Have I used "much" here correctly?

This line in the book captures much of humanity.

Dear Makin, Your use of 'much' is fine because it goes well with 'humanity', a non-count noun. My concern is your use of 'capture' with 'humanity'. If you change 'humanity' to 'the spirit of humanity' or 'what it is to be human', you would be sure of using the figurative meaning of 'capture', not its literal one. Ok? understand? Smile
