[Friends Season 15]
Monica: Would you let it go? It's not that big a deal.
Ross: Not that big a deal? It's amazing. Ok, you just reach in there, there's one little maneuver, and bam, a bra right out the sleeve. All right, as far as I'm concerned, there is nothing a guy can do that even comes close. Am I right?
1.Here "let it go" means stop arguing, right?
2."you just reach in there" means that your hand or you fingers just reach in there?
3."maneuver" means "move" ?
4."comes close" means can be comparable?
------------------------------------------------------------
Phoebe: (to Rachel) What's the matter? Why so scrunchy?
5."scrunchy" means unhappy,sad?
-------------------------------------
Joey: I suddenly had the feeling that I was falling . But I'm not.
6.What is the meaning of "I was falling" here ?
Thanks a lot to teachers! |

1. In this case, it means stop worrying/being curious/wondering about it. In other contexts, it could mean stop arguing, stop being over-emotional, or whatever. It's whatever has you distracted in some way.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.
4. Yes.
5. Well, this is Phoebe's world of English. I assume that's what she meant.
6. I couldn't see anything in the script that was obvious, so I think he meant it in the literal sense - that he had the feeling that he was falling through the air from a great height. |
