Please, would you tell me if 'hence' can be used in the following context?
Suddenly, the light wind turned into a severe electric storm. Hence, we had great difficulty in steering the canoe.
I know that 'therefore' would work very well and is commonly used - but 'hence'?

| "Hence" is correctly used in your sentence but is much less frequently used than words like therefore and so are. |
