Dear Teachers,

1. How was your back-home trip?

2. a: I can ski and read a book at the same time.
b: wow! very admire! very admire!

- Are 1 & 2 natural to say?

Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd

1. this sentence is more commonly used... "how was your trip back home?"
steven - this is a regional saying. by that i mean it depends on where in USA you live as to how you make that statement. most people use the example i provided.

2. a - this sentence is grammatically and structurally okay but womeone would not actually do this...read and ski at the same time.
b - this is not a correct response to the statment that you provided in 'a'. you could say "wow! i'm impressed!"

to admire someone means to have strong feelings for someone or for something that they do, but you would have to state the admiration in a sentence..."i admire you for staying in school and getting good grades although your parents and grandparents did not finish school."

hope that helps...iitimone7
