Hi,
I'd like to ask wheter "spouse" means husband or wife, or husband and wife. In what situation we should use spouse or spouses. And this idea applies to "sibling" and "parent" ?

Thank you

"Spouse" means husband or wife. A husband and wife together are called a married couple.

You can use spouse to refer to a husband or wife but husband or wife is usually used when you know the sex of the spouse.
Use spouses to refer to many husbands and wives. The teachers' spouses are also invited to the school picnic.

The same rules apply to "sibling(s)" and "parent(s)".

Spouse only means one person, either the husband or the wife. So it means "husband or wife" and not "husband and wife"
