I have a question.

When someone says "You are more than a woman",
is it in general a compliment??

Could you explain what it actually means, too??

Thank you.

It may be intended as a compliment, but when you think about it, it is not.

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately it's not quite enough for me to understand.

Would you or anyone please explain what it actually means if that is possible.

Thanks so much.

Hi tisogai,

It can be meant as a compliment given the proper context.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=9ov0HaYWdY8

"You're more than a woman."

This phrase can mean many things:

You're too much woman for me.
You're not quite a woman.

You're more womanly than woman.
You're a complete woman, and more.

More often than not, it is a flattering remark:

[You're] more than a woman to me.

I plead guilty to geekiness for knowing this song. Smile

Thank you so much, Lotus!

When it's said like "You're a fun loving person, love fashion...you're more than a woman", it must be positive in the context.

It's interesting to know it also can be negative as you showed with the examples.

Thanks again.
