Hi
When i trained as a nurse many years ago, the training was thorough, theoretical/practical and 3 years long. With TEFL, i paid 210 pounds for a 20 hr weekend , got a certificate, then was given..for 120 pounds...the tough correspondence course..this isnt teacher training? You learn to teach BY TEACHING..not by poring over books about English grammar..greetings.UKGUY _________________ dont worry be happy |

Why did you decide to "learn" how to teach that way? There are many programs in TEFL/TESL that take longer, have a university degree, and include teaching practicums and student teaching. Sounds like you wanted something fast and cheap. Did you get what you paid for? |

I showed my TEFL coursework books to a highly experienced teacher at university, who was amazed how obscenely dull , boring and lifeless the exercises are. What a load of old tripe some courses are _________________ dont worry be happy |

TEFL books and TEFL courses are like bricks - boring. But you can build some amazing houses with them. Try teaching some classes. _________________ Try www.activeielts.com - good stuff, most of it free.. |

A 20-hour weekend course won't be recognized by very many associations.
Good luck,
