The Americans and those who follow American English would consider both correct, but would be more inclined to say hosted.
The Brits and those who follow British English would consider it odd or wrong to say hosted, and they would only say has hosted.
Those like me, who are used to following either would consider both correct. |

I prefer has hosted because of the use of since. I suppose some Americans would use the other one, but I wouldn't. |
