Hi, everyone!

I'd like to know the subtle difference in meaning between the two sentences below.

A) Seeing is believing.
B) To see is to believe.

My grammar book says A) is more suited to be a proverb than B), but I don't know why.

I'd appreciate your advice.

You can say both but normally the gerund is used to refer to a verb as a noun; to refer to an act rather than an action.

Smoking is bad for your health.

It's dangerous to drive fast. - Driving fast is dangerous.
