Hello all,
I'm a teacher in Iran.
Would you please clarify me what are the diffrences between these words:
beneath & underneath & under & below ????

Please answer me as qucikly as possible.

Hi Navid,

Some of those words have many meanings, so I assume you are asking about their meaning of physical position. In most of those cases, they are synonyms. There are a few instances where some are preferred over the others, but I don't know how to describe them. For example, you might carry something under your arm, but you wouldn't use any of the other synonyms in that phrase. (You are carrying something under your arm when you hold it between your upper arm and your chest).

Usually, though, there is no difference. Sorry I can't be more specific.
