Which one is the better expression among native speakers?
Thanks. |

Number 2 is correct and number 1 is wrong. However, you will hear native speakers use the number 1 construction.
It should be "their having more children" because "having more children" is a noun phrase, commencing with a gerund (a noun made out of a verb), so treated the same as any noun. What if you changed "having more children" to "prosperity"? You would never say "and that will result in them prosperity." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
