Hi, everyone
I read this sentence:Do I have to carry the apples in any baskets? Is it correct? I think we can say,"Do I have to carry the apples in baskets?" I can't understand why 'any' is used in the first sentence. I'd appreciate it if you would explain it to me.

A native speaker would not use "any" as in your first sentence. You might say, "You can't put any apples in any baskets," or "You can carry apples in anything but baskets." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
