Hey There!
I'd like to know how is "destined" pronounced? I mean just simple destined or "des-tin-id"?
Waiting to have a sooner reply,
WDH

"destine" is two syllables.
"destined" is two syllables.

The only time the -ed adds a syllable is when the verb ends in a /t/ or /d/ sound. Examples:

sound (one syllable) sounded (two syllables)
invite (two syllables) invited (three syllables)
want (one syllable) wanted (two syllables)
need (one syllable) needed (two syllables)

Hi whatdaheck,

The schwa in the ending "de" sound is hard to avoid even if "tined" is one syllable. But, it is a soft trailing "de."

Pronunciation: (des'tind)
