Is it acceptable to change sentence 1 to sentence 2?
1. He is proud of never having seen a doctor.
2. He has the pride that he has never seen a doctor.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Junkomama,
Number 2 sounds a little strange. When you boast, you're usually "proud of" something.

Hello Junk O Mamma - As always, Lotus has offered good advice. Most people would say 'proud'.
If you want to use 'pride' .....you could say 'take pride in'
- "He takes pride in the fact that he has never seen a doctor."
or - "He takes pride in never having seen a doctor."
