| I sometimes wonder when the teacher wrote the reply. I know the time the teacher wrote his or her reply is shown on the board in the style as "Posted: Sat Jun 02, 2007 2:00 pm." But I don't understand the difference. What's the difference between the time shown on the board and the UTC (Coordinated Universal Time)? |

If you choose the link that says "Profile" at the top of the page, you will go to your Registration Information. At the bottom of the form, there is a category called "Timezone". You can choose which timezone you are in so the times and dates will match where you live. For example, in California we are "GMT-8 Hours" right now. It changes when we go on and off daylight saving time. When you first go to Dave's ESL Cafe Student Discussion Forums, you can see the time on the left side, above the Student Forums. If you want the time to match the time where you live, you can see if it is the same. If it isn't, you can change it in your Profile. |

Hello Lorikeet
Thanks a lot for your detailed reply.
I understand well. It's a convenient sysytem. Now I can know when the teacher wrote his or her reply.
Thanks! |
