It was an exciting moment for Mr. and Mrs. Wang when they learned that they were going to have a baby.

Is the sentence grammatical? It sounds odd to me. But I don't know what's wrong.

2. It was an exciting moment for Mr. and Mrs. Wang when they learned that they were going to have a baby.

Are the above sentences have the same meaning?

I would say: It was an exciting moment for Mr. and Mrs. Wang when they learned that they were going to have a baby.

When they learned that they were going to have a baby it was an exciting moment.
