A. works B. is working C. has worked D. worked

I cannot tell the difference between C and D in this situation.


Can anyone help me???

I think you answered the question 'Why is "has" unnecessary?' for yourself, when you said "I cannot tell the difference between C and D...".

C and D both mean the same thing; therefore the "has" is unnecessary, as it adds nothing to the meaning.

Some people might use the perfect tense "has worked" here, but I wouldn't use it because simple past tense is all you need to express the meaning.

I didn't exactly say "C is wrong", but if you push me I will say it is wrong because it uses an unnecessary word/tense. It is a good general rule not to use unneeded words/tenses. Keep things simple.
