Women are involved more with the politic in the world nowaday. We can clearly see from the election in France and the coming election in USA. It is the first time for USA to have women as a candidate for the president.

However, we know that woman lost the election in France. Is gender effect your decision, if you want to select someone to rule your country? Some of you might say no but is it effect at all?

What?! Excuse me, we are not all Italians. Razz
Positions on key issues and trustworthy character are important to some of us, not gender or how hot she looks in high heels.

Which is why Hillary will not win.

Well, that and the fact that her flag and rhetoric blow in the direction of the current political wind.

Why can't people just figure out where they Stand?

Hi, I am serap, live in Istanbul.

You are right, recently women interest much more policy. I think they don't trust be governed by man. it can be reason many. I believe that if women hold a place more more in the parliaments of countries, living conditions in the world will be better. I hope women can be adventurous for humanity and peaceful.

There have been many women Presidents and Prime Ministers elected in the World - India, Sri Lanka, Britain, Canada, Estonia, Germany and Israel, to name a few. Unfortunately they seem to have the same strengths and weaknesses as their male counterparts. I wish they could produce another outstanding leader like Mahatma Gandhi but I'm not holding my breath.

This statement can be easily disproved if you look at the new German Federal Chancellor which has been VOTED in a DEMOCRATIC country.

The Germans are very satisfied with her as the boom happened just some days before her election. (Every successfull man/woman needs luck)

You know why so many women are voted as leaders recently? It's because of the demographic change in our world. Communism has been proven as the wrong concept and Democracy and Economy (mostly sales department) is spreading over the whole world.
As a result, nowadays it's not important any more how strong you are (man attitude), as Economy modernised and automatised most of works for which you need a strong body.
As a result, workers will earn less and less money because they are suvstituted by more reliable and more sufficient machines.
As a result, employers need to build machines, but those machines are very complicated so they have to search for employees to fill each empty technological gaps in the company. (Like a manufacture)
As a result, Economy became important, the skill to know how to effectively sell products became important.
The skill is: To be sociable, to know what other guys like, to tell them nice words, to know the right timepoint to sell and buy, which you could learn at the social sciences (linguistic, languages, economy...)
Girls are better in these subjects than boys, and the world is becoming more liberal, that's why (in a long run) more and more prsidents are female.

So let's come back too ugly female presidents:
In their childhood, ugly girls can't make advertisement for themself by their appearance, so they decide to learn hard, hoping to become famous by their wisdom.
I don't know other ugly female presidents, but I beliebe Angela Merkel thought: "Ok, if I'm so ugly, at least I have to show them I'm intelligent and successfull." So she decided to be intelligent. But as girls are better in social sciences, she tried to perfect them. And as the woman rights is getting better because of Globalisation and Democracy, woman have more chances as before.

I think that's why more and more woman are becoming presidents.
