Hello.
I would like to know what preposition should be used before 'the tab' in the below sentence.
I put 'in' here but I am not sure..
This is about a computer software as you may see..
"Click 'Start' in the tab."
Thanks in advance for your help!

How about, "Click the Start tab." (if there are tabs across the top, and each one has a different name to it.) |

Hi Lorikeet.
Thanks for your reply.
However, "Start" is not the name of a tab.
If you click some tab, you can change some values or functions in the window.
I meant "Start" as a button in a window having a tab on top.
Have I made it clear?

Okay, sorry, I don't understand then. Maybe it's possible for you to make a screen shot of what you are talking about and show the picture. |

Thanks for e-mailing me the picture. Now I understand what you mean. There are seven tabs across the top, and in the tab that is showing, there are different buttons.
I can't think of a good way to say it all together. I think I would say something like, "Click on the xxx Tab, and then choose/click/push (select one of these words) the button that says YYYYY." |
