hey guys.

I was wondering if there is a web site or dictionary where I could find an English word which I know its pronunciation, let's say I may hear it from the radio. And obviously it's a new word to me and all I know is 'sound' and I do want to learn this new word.

thank you for your help.

Hi Rayt,

I found you one at the URL below. Just type in the word how you think it might be spelled and it will come up with several actual spellings of real words that you can check in the dictionary to see if they are the correct ones.

You might want to have a quick look at the following definitions of how you should type the sounds before you use it so that you get as close as possible to the words you want.

A={ x ; x= vowels ,W , Y or all previous combination }, B={ b, v}, D={ d, dg(as bridge), th(as the), z, dz, su(as leisure)}, F={ f}, G={ g}, H={ h}, K={ k}, L={ l, r}, N={ m, n, ng (, nk)}, P={ p}, S={ s, sh, th}, T={ ch, t, th (, ts)} (,W={ w}, Y={ j})

Not a good idea to use the word "wanna" Its slang or even kidspeak. Someone learning English might mistake it for correct English.
In America, the English language is already disintegrating quite enough already.

I agree. Not to pick on you, Ray T, because many of the posters here write in shorthand, but it is best to use standard spelling, capitalization, and punctuation here and everywhere, in my humble opinion. (Boy, was I tempted to write "IMHO"!) Coz u wanna be understood dontcha? N u probly hava teachr whoz gonna grade u.
