Hello!! teachers!!
I still don't have the reason
And you don't have the time
"Makes Me Wonder" by Maroon 5
<<<
I am not sure about the meaning of "the time."
Do you find any difference between "you don't have the time" and "you don't have time"?
Thank you in advance. |

There's really no difference. "I don't have time to help you" or "I don't have the time to help you" are the same.
However:
"I don't have the time" could also mean "I don't know what o'clock it is"
I" don't have time" can only mean "I'm in a hurry" |

Also, in the context of this song, it might mean "I don't have a good reason for us to get back together, and you don't have enough time in your life for me." They had a fling, he wants it again, but probably they aren't really a good match, and it won't really happen.
Of course, interpreting song lyrics and poetry is never exact, so there are undoubtedly other ways to parse this. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
