Communication is making a _____ for discussion.
A. space B. room C. topic D. plan

As far as I know, both A and B are wrong since both answers are uncountable nouns. Am I right?

thanks.

This is one of those test questions that should be eliminated. None of the choices is really good, because communication is not making a space, room, topic, or plan for discussion.

All four are countable, in some contexts, at least, but space and room can be uncountable.

With these choices, I could make an argument for any to be the right answer. I suppose the "right" answer might be D, but others probably will disagree.

What does the teacher or the workbook say?

thank you!

Let me give you the context for my question.

Although there are certainly times when calling it quits it the right thing to do, in most cases all that is needed is commitment and communication. When we are committed to something, it means that no matter how painful or how uncomfortable something is ,we will always choose to face it and work it through instead of running away from it. Communication is making a ___ for discussion and talking about how you feel as opposed to just saying what the other person did wrong. If you can say to a friend, I got my feelings hurt. rather thanYou hurt my feelings, you are going to be able solve the problem much faster. In dealing with many challenges that friendship will bring to you, try to see them for what they me: small hurdles you need to jump or ____ on your way through life.
