It's grammatically correct as is. The second clause would only make sense in context, though. If you knew that your friend had 3 papers to write and 2 projects to finish, for example, then your sentence is very good. If you don't know the specifics, then "... and what have you done?" would be better. And for either sentence, if you want to stress that you know the studying is not yet finished, you could add 'so far.' "... have you done so far?" |

You sure can! Your original was correct, too, but this is an alternative, especially for acknowledging that you are aware that the work is on-going. |
