I could hardly understand The Day's Phrase on studioclassroom:
" All skin types can be divided and classified into two categories. "
Is it a native way of speaking,an idiom?
thanks! _________________ Signature:

It's not any kind of idiom I'm aware of. It appears to just be a statement. |

I imagine the text goes on to explain what the two categories are and how you recognise them. |

maybe they divide skins into white and coloured, it seems to be a rassistic book _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I also love everyone else inside you, I love the whole world because of you, I also love myself inside you." -- Erich Fromm, the Art of Love |

Some fall into one category, some fall into the other... divide just means to split something into separate groups. Maybe they're separated into 'skin types that sunburn easily' and 'skin types that don't sunburn easily' |

Now I'm really curious to know what the two categories are. What does the text say next, Cathy Lover?
As for dichotomizing -- dividing things into two categories -- it happens all the time. It's the easiest way to organize things.
There are two kinds of people in the world: Those who believe there are two kinds of people in the world, and those who do not.
See how easy that was? _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

Generally, cosmetic products distinguish between oily and dry skin. |
