I'm teaching in a large class in China, up to 60 students in class. I have limited materials, a blackboard, any suggestions will be welcome, games, activities, etc. Thanks!

There is a company in HK that has developed a range of phonics games that are exceptional. You can get information from [email protected]

The phonicball series is great. I have used it with my students and they are excited about it. They enjoy the competitive aspect of the game. It is very motivational. Unfortunately I could only get two sets as they were snapped up by local teachers. I have heard that they will have a website on line within the week.

Can you tell me more about the phonicball?
Is it an idea? or a product?
Do I need to buy it? or is it for free?

I have tried to get some of these games but I blieve they will not be available till November. I saw them being used in a Chinese School in King Lam Kowloon. The kids were so involved and motivated. Unfortunately I was told the teacher was only using the sample from the factory and devising games for the "games booklet" that will come with the game.
I have emailed ESL Education Games at [email protected] and asked to be advised when they become available.

Phonicball

The two local teachers that have the games I managed to acquire have set up a phonicball challenge with the school nearby. They have loaned one of the boards to that school so they can get some teams ready. They are very competitive here.

Sorry to sound like a broken record but look into Deal A Word at www.dealaword.com. It works for my 3rd graders. Becky

It looks like a great game. I am actually trying to find games that get these kids active and out of their desks. If anyone knows where I can get some please let me know
