Im not sure how many of you are familiar with the Let's Go series, but thats what I have been using with my elementary school children. I find that by the time you get to Let's Go 5 and 6 the grammar seems contrived, and the vocabulary is not very relavant. At this point my students have a pretty good speaking/reading level, and are earger communicators.
I would like to get into content-based teaching. I want my students to read about a particular subject, discuss it, go home and find more information, discuss it further, maybe an activity or two, and then possibly some written work.
What I'm finding is that normal textbooks, while interesting, are too difficult. I am using a content-based book called Facts and Figures with my older students, and they seem to like it. I think its a bit too difficult for my younger students and with the strictly black and white presentation, a bit boring.
Can anyone suggest some books for me to look into? I would REALLY appreciate it.
Thanks
Please help me find a book
