Why does Itasan have so many posts?
Are they legitimate questions or is it merely the hopeless despiration of someone lost in the throes of someone finally beginning to learn the language?

Re: Why does Itasan have so many posts?
Itasan has explained that he is retired, and enjoys studying. Even though I don't answer all his posts, I find his information interesting. If you look, you will see he usually explains what the word is in Japanese, and asks if there is something similar in English. Is that a problem for you? It's clear to me that his English is quite good.Dodger wrote:Are they legitimate questions or is it merely the hopeless despiration of someone lost in the throes of someone finally beginning to learn the language?
Thank you.
Thank you, Lorikeet, for the kind explanation.
But I seem to be annoying some people.
So I'll retreat from here. Allow me to read
other people's post every once in a while.
Thank you for all the valuable answers you
and some of the kind people here have given
me. I will never forget your kindnesses.

Itasan - you should stay and continue to do your own thing. I for one have enjoyed reading your posts and, like Lorikeet, have been fascinated with the Japanese expressions you have shared with us. I hadn't realised there was any limit to the number of posts a member places in any given forum. I thought the idea was that we all learn a little from one another by exchanging our ideas.
Thank you.

Dear Macavity,
Thank you so very much for the warm message. I appreciate it very much. I might post a question again if I have one. Thank you again.

Itasan - you misunderstood me
While I don't mind your posts, in general terms, it is their volume which troubles me.
As it says above ... "Teacher Discussion Forums Forum Index -> Business English." Are you a teacher of the English language; Business English, or someone who is merely curious about it? A teacher would only rarely ask the type of questions which you ask. I do not believe myself to be a bad person in saying these things to you; having from time to time, responded as helpfully as possible to some of your past inquiries.
What I do find bothersome is to come to Dave's ESL Cafe looking for Business English posts only to finding myself typically wading through the first three pages of your queries then finally arriving at something of substance which an English teacher would ask in the first place.
My sincerest apologies but perhaps moderation is the key.

Thank you for the comment.
Thank you for the comment.
Yes, I used to be a BUSINESS ENGLISH teacher.
Quite well-known here.
You are right in that many of my recent questions
do not suit the BUSINESS ENGLISH forum.
Now that I'm retired, I'm more interested in other
areas of English than Business English.
I was, therefore, going to retreat from here, but
I have received very kind encouraging suggestions
from a number of members that I should continue.
Following one suggestion, I have set up a single
thread to include a number of different questions.
I would appreciate your frank comment about that. If
it still annoys someone, I will completely retreat
from here.
Thank you.

Thank you, Itasan for accepting my sincere apology.
As I have tried to assist you in the past by responding to your posts, I look forward to possibly being of assistance to you in the future.
Your kindness and understanding are most appreciated by me.
Faithfully, Freddie

Thank you very much.
Thank you indeed, Freddie, for your kind reply.
You are very strict and kind as well. Nice teacher.
I sort of misunderstood you I think.
You are quite correct in that my questions are
not suitable for the BUSINESS ENGLISH forum,
especially the recent ones. (No apology necessary.)
But it seems other members are also tolerant
to allow me to post such questions.
Responding to your kind offer, I will continue
to post my (silly) questions.
Thank you.
