setting up a school in the UK

I am considering setting up a language school in the UK and I have several questions

Where and how do the majority of language schools in the UK find their foreign students ? Do they advertise abroad ? Do they visit countries and market abroad in person ? If they use agents, how do they find them and how does it work ? Do they just rely on students coming to the UK and then try to lure them through marketing in the UK ?

I realise that the target population (young learners, business people) will determine this to a great extent, but either way, what are the strategies ?

Any pointers or decent links would be greatly appreciated.
