Hello.

First of all congratulation for your new respective and responsible job, make sure everything perfect once you start to teach. Once you start teaching you shouldn’t have any doubts about whatever you are going to teach if you are not sure about what your are teaching then its reflects on your body language and pronunciation.

Mind maps come from memory, which could prove advantageous since you may see things you didn’t see before. Since the brain works from association it has information stored which could spill out as you relate words.

Even by checking your keywords in the speech you can create mind maps. Keywords are associating words that link to a complete topic. Use these keywords to the fullest as you move along, since it will keep the mind sharp also.

Ask questions
Brainstorm answers
Review and practice
Prepare
Review some more
Take notes
Ask more questions
Research and so forth.

The more questions you ask yourself the more answers will come to the fore. Also, you need to practice giving your speech out loud once you have completed the process of writing.

Hello,

What would I have liked to know the first year?

Base what you are going to teach on the interests of your students- with my kids in primary on many occasions I can be seen skipping with a skipping rope while the kids count in English to twenty or whatever but they are doing something that they like and learning at the same time.

Either way, I think that it is a very educational period itself teaching and bit by bit you acquire the know how- it doesn't happen overnight. There are many troublesome periods but then when things fit and the kids learn something it makes it all worthwhile.

So Iwon't go on, just simply repeat that I think it is very important to focus on the child's interests to get them to learn the structures that you wish to teach.

Best wishes,
Dean

Hello Mister Dean,

Thank you for sharing your experience with elementary school kids. It’s going to help some new teacher in their school.

David.
