Do you think that there is a relation between a learner's personality and his achievement in L2 learning? If so, in what sense?

I'm sure there is, but how do you measure "personality"?

how do you measure "personality"?
By using certain psychological tests. But would that personality affect learners from all over the world in the same way? or does it depend on the nature of the target language? I need to now if there are certain books, articles, or dissertations that addressed this issue?
