stories for little children

Post by AnnaTwardzik » Thu Oct 19, 2006 9:56 pm

I'm looking for stories in which different things(animals/ colours/family members) are mentioned a few times. I need it to prepare a game in which each child is a different thing and when their name is mentioned they have to do sth ( run or jump). Can you think of any such stories or give me some links? I need these stories or songs to be simple and not very long because the children I teach are 3-6-year-olds.

Hi Anna,

How about 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'? 'The Gingerbread Man'? 'The three little pigs'? 'Goldilocks'?

How about the song 'There was an old woman who swallowed a fly'?

There's also a lovely story about a little boy who sets out one day, looking for a red house with no doors, no windows and a star inside. A quick google search ought to help you find that one (I don't want to write out the whole story here!!). I've used it a few times, and children love it.

Good luck!

Brian
