Teaching culture-loaded words

As we know, culture teaching is very important for language teaching. But teaching of culture-loaded words still remains eclipsed in the actual teaching and learning process. Who can suggest some methods of teaching culture-loaded words in secondary schools? Thanks!

This looks like a great topic. I hope it gets rolling. I would like to ask you, the original poster to include some examples in your post so that I have something to respond to specifically and so that we're all on the same page.

There are vocabulary words that I teach that hit the students differently than what's intended. Example, I can't count how many times I've written "individual" on the board and had a student look up from their dictionary and inquire, "teacher, that word has bad meaning?"

They think it does. (South Korean students, they think anything related to individual equates to selfishness.) I explain that the word is neutral (depending on context, of course but usage is largely neutral).

I'm not sure if this type of thing is what your post refers to.

Yes! What my post refers to is the cultural-loaded words teaching just as your examples.
Most of words have different connotations depending on different cultures.
Can I share your experience of teaching this kind of words?

Projects or role playing or even simulations can help your students understand the difference.
