Language Games
Just wanted to introduce myself. I m Serge Toper. I live in Ukraine. I used to be an ESL teacher and I am not an odd member of this forum section - I believe in 'Game in teaching English'
I even created a Language Games Blog where I post games daily. I joined this forum to share and discuss game ideas with teachers of English all over the world.

Dear Serge,
Thanks, I will check out your blog. You may get some ideas from me too, as long as you quote the source, as I give away free games by email. They are particularly helpful for new teachers and give a new bent on some familiar games, plus some new ones, for those long in the tooth!
There are also games and a free story for three to five year old children.
Here are the links;
www.teachingenglishgames.com for the 6 to 12 year olds
and
www.teachingenglishgames.com/3-5.htm
for the free mini-series for preschool children including story.

A couple of games to play
I like your blog, lots of fun.... I made/adapted a few games at the end of last year that you might like to try. They are all in Flash.

Interactive Hangman

Interactive House Designer

Pronunciation games

There's a downloadable Executable version of this one too.
There's also a section on the site for playing board games etc

I hope these are useful... I always get requests to make more, but the truth is that they take a lot of time to make each one and I have two very young children at home who are not going to sit at home and let daddy program in flash.

Serge, your blog rocks. Its been an inspiration for my new adult beginner classes. Its easy to read, easy to follow, and has lots of great ideas. Here's another for you-"follow the leader":
Basically you have a leader who tells the blindfolded, handholing, followers exactly what to do and where to go. I did this once as one of the followers and as nerve wrecking as it might be, we ended up in a cool spot and spent to rest of the night talking. This is a good listening and speaking exercise.
