I've had a lot of success with these Ferd'nand cartoons.

It gets the students used to using the structures. It really keeps them talking and they enjoy it. I see real progress when I use visuals like these.

Could you tell us how you use them?

More cartoons for classroom use

If you like cartoons, have you seen the lovely ones at Grammarman? (http://www.grammarmancomic.com/) They go down particularly well with teen classes, but they cheer up any stale class!

There are some good joke cartoons about teaching at www.langwichscool.com, too.
