teaching governmnet class
I will apparently be teaching a semester long government class to two low level students. Does anyone have topic ideas other than the presedintal election?

There is a game that allows you to set up your country, decide what kind of laws you will have and who will enforce them and how. I will try to think of the name. It is lot more fun than studying a textbook and gets children thinking of why things are the way they are or how we could change things to make them better.

What about a writing assignment where they have to say why a fictional city in the game's country would be a good host for the Olympics? What would you include for the 'Olympic bid'? Laws? Government agencies? I think this could be fun since it combines the country and sports, which most boys are interested in, and current events.
