Tourism English

Post by Decklen » Sat Mar 20, 2004 8:43 am

I'm working with a mob in Macau (near Hong Kong) that wants to set up a Buisness/Tourism English course for adults. It'll be aimed to prepare students in 'some way' for the tourism industrie, which is expected to blossom in the next 5 years.

I'm freaking out because I'm only a newb from a CELTA I did las October. I have never set up a syllabus before let worked in tourism...thou, I like walking on new ground.

Are there any surfing teachers out there on the net that could let me in on a little local knowledge. I need to know if there are any texts that could prove useful or if anyone has experence or knowledge in this area. I'm open to all advice!

Thanks for your time!

You might want to take a look in the "English for Special Purposes" Forum. There are a couple short notes about Tourism in there.
