Dear Eva,

hehe, yes, I did, and he finally get my meaning, the language and the culture is the big problem to the world people when comunicate.yet you need to try to explain with clear, and then people will get you. but there is still some problem need to settle.

yes, I really can understand you,the deep emotion can't be replace by anything.I am always envy you, I think you are the most happy women in the world.as a writer say, the happy family is the same, yet the misery was different. I think you are the lucky one， many people love you, and you love them too, as a man live in this world, what can be happy than that?.in this world , the god give something to you, while take another away you.

hehe,,my family has six people, my parent , my two sisters, and my brother. they care about me so much in my growing. when I go to college, I lived with my brother, but we are independent unless in trouble. we are appreciate each other. my sisters and brother have get marry, but the marriage isn't beauty in my eye. so I am frighten with the marriage somewhat. you love someone is easy, yet stay in love in all life is very difficult. there's so many problem in the marriage, the marriage always give up to the reality.

hehe,,the weekend come again after a long hodiday, I can enjoy the swimming and is a sunshine day,,

have a good day.

Good for you that you finally got through to your customer what the price policy of your company was all about! You must feel so proud of yourself... and you'll even feel better once the problem got settled.

Yes, I'm very fortunate, and I am fortunate in the sense that I know how fortunate I am. Many people around me like to complain and like to take a negative outlook on things, and I don't like this mindset very much, I'm much happier when people are appreciative as to what they've got, no matter how small it may be.

Especially in the cities here you wouldn't reckon that you're in one of the most fortunate places in the world, judging from the expression on people's faces. So much discontent, so much frustration, so much general grouchiness. I remember that I used to wear a ludicrous pink and red woolly hat when I took the underground to the university, just to see smiles on people's faces.

Teenagers and children tend to be happier, though, and that's one reason why I prefer interacting with them to interacting with grown-ups.

One of my brothers, Martin, he is married. They love each other very much, him and his wife Marion, but they are one of the few couples of their old circle of friends to be still together.

I think if Andreas asked me to marry him, I would. It doesn't scare me these days, because Andreas is the sort of companion that I would want to spend the rest of my life with, "in love" or not. We've been together for almost 7 years now, and they say that after 4 years the feeling of being "in love" wears off, and you need something else to replace it with, and I think that's very true. What we've got is delight in each other's company, and a sense of belonging together.

Lucky you to be able to go swimming! Here, it's still cold...But we acompanied Andreas to the Vienna City Marathon and watched "Brother Bear" with my sister and her boyfriend on DVD, so we had a good time.

Tke care, Eva

Thanks, Cutecat!

You're too kind! I wish people would be better at guiding and helping each other when the going gets rough, but I think that in situations of hardship, self-interest often takes over.

My students are a great deal less optimistic and more anxiety-ridden than I am, and when they harbor dark thoughts, they usually share them among each other, rather than talking to a teacher. When they do, from time to time, these things hit me rather unprepared, and I'm surprised that relatively small things can weigh a person down that much.

Adolescence isn't an easy state to be in, it's a time of transformation and crisis for many, and sometimes they need to handle things on their own, without any help from the outside - in particular without any help from older women.

You know, Cute Cat, many of the students here worry about finding the right woman just in the way that you think about finding the right man. I hated being single - I'm much more a relationship-kind-of-woman.

What I did was to ask an older woman in my village "What's the best way to find a man", and she answered "Join the ambulance, every woman finds a man on the ambulance", so that's what I did, and it worked as she had predicted.

Maybe you'll find someone suitable at work. Surely, you've got to meet some nice men there, or at least some women who've got nice brothers and friends.

All the best, Eva

Dear Eva,

hehe,,yes, taht's ture, when I was a student, I share my secret with my good friends, but not my teacher, maybe there's generation gap between us! and the love is the topic of the life . and I believe the good man I will meet omeday,,I don't worry about that, just wait, and catch the man someday!
I prefer to be meet the man in the uncharted place with a romatic scene,
just like the movie act!

hehe,,when I was a child, I have a dream to be a teacher when grown up,because there's many interesting and funny happy with the naive chilren, and you never feel to be old.but when I come to college, I change my mind,I like to be quite and think about something, and I have a dream, to build up a hotel, with the name"lazycat+0101", the laycat refer me, and 0101 refer to my first lover, and I would run theis hotel with my heart! yet maybe never come to true! never mind, there still long way to try for it!

hhe,,since our company make the advertisement on the hk enterprise network, there's more and more foreigner find us and enquiry or the products! but a pity, still no company make an order.I learn the business in the quotation, I need to improve my skill in communicate with the client!
is a pain process to reach the goal, yet also ia greatful when make an unexpected achievement!

hehe, something make me confuse in my work, some client of taiwan, ask for our sample, and then take it to another company copy with a cheaper price. and refuse such client always bring some condemnation.and that make me boring and angry, yet I need to calm and explain in patience with polite !sometime I feel so disingenuous in the business, since the business born with guileful and evil. yet it is dark in business as politics sometimes!

hehe,,I always puzzle by this world,,yet noboday can give me answer, even the god!

hehe,,I need to study english, because I will take am examination for the CET6 , I did't ast it when I at school, just past CET4! But that's not enough, to do good my job, I need to improve my english level constantly!

Well, it looks as if you're working on your English, Cute Cat. There is no easy way, really, just writing and reading and listening and speaking as much as possible, and you'll get there eventually.

That's annoying, when a customer turns to another company after having expressed interest in your products. It's dreadful when businesses are not honest and when people are cheated, yet it happens a lot, it seems.

I wouldn't want to run a hotel of my own, I think. I would get tired of all those strangers making demands without feeling obliged to give anything in return. And those taking liberties - my friend Andrea, she runs a mountain hut, and people can spend the night there, too, and they are not always very considerate. She told them over and over again to walk up quietly as her baby was sleeping, but to no avail. And you sometimes get people getting drunk and throwing up on the floor, and getting annoyed when you tell them they won't get any further drinks.

You know what? I might be flying to Washington this summer. I've registered with a company called the American Hiking Society, and they've placed me on a project of people who'll be cleaning up trails and rivers in a State Park.

I'm really excited. Hopefully, it'll work out.

All the best, Eva

Dear Eva,

Glad to hear you again, you are always live in your mind, I am so envy you.since I am love free so much, yet live in chains.

these days is busy, so much telephone of client need to settle off, though chat with people is easy and relax, yet in business, it means serious and skill, the practice makes progress, I can feel it.

to tell you one thing, a new client will come to china next early month, and he want to visit our company, if that come true, I will lead him to visit our factory as a hierophant, that would be my first time to meet foreigner in job, sounds a heavy task for me! I will try best to show him a good impression! can you tell me something about you country and people or business??I always appreciated your knowledgeable and kind!

as to the dream, everyone has his own! no mater how hard or how illusive, you live and work hard for it, that's the life,,people choose his way and pay for it!yes, to run a hotel doesn't easy as it look, and you need to endure much pain and deal with much trouble, but I will enjoy the achievement of the businesslike of hotel and the smile of people after my management.

hehe,,I don't understand well what you mean, is it means you take part in a company for a project? you charge this project?I think that's a good chance for you to do what you like, right?! congratulations!

I am looking forward to your kind reply!

have a nice day,

Dear Cute-Cat,

Don't worry *too* much about that customer of yours, I'm sure you'll be just fine! I'm sure he'll find you charming, I mean hey, your sweetness and charm shines through these lines you're writing, he would be a right fool not to see what nice person he's interacting with.

Where is he from, that business partner of yours? Do you mean that you've never interacted with a foreigner in your life? Not really, no?

My country is very small, compared to China, and only about 8 million people live there. We're surrounded by neighboring countries, I think we must be the nation in Europe border to the greatest number of other countries. Many people living here are actually of foreign descent, due to the fact that we used to be part of a big empire, and many people are bi-lingual. About a third of the country is mountaineous, with rugged terrain and only sparsely populated, and traditionally, a huge number of people used to make a living by farming. But that has changed, there are only few farmers around these days, most people either work in industry or in the social professions.

We have a very low crime-rate, one of the lowest in the World. It is a very safe place, and in general, people trust each other, and are not plagued by fears or worries. Our labor protection laws are very strict, and we enjoy long holidays and a modest working week. The health care system is excellent, pretty much all expenses are covered, and schools are free of charge, too. Our judical system is very lenient, too, there is no death penalty, and criminals even get days off towards the end of their term in prison to spend them with their loved-ones.

You would think that people would be happy, but generally, this is not the case - maybe because we tend to make life difficult for each other at times. People are not very respectful, and at times you get the impression that they are cynics who don't take anything seriously at all - apart from food, skiing and sex, that is. Sometimes you hear a story that has a decidedly absurd ring to itself, and you start wondering....

Most businesses are small or medium-scale, and there are countless rules and regulations that they have to heed. It's sometimes hard to compete, because the government seems to pass law upon law to regulate business practises and to protect the interests of somebody. People have a strong need for security and stability, and do not like to take risks. When it comes to the roles of men and women, we tend to be among the more conservative countries of Europe. Few women make it into management.

Well, I don't know, really. Are there any questions you'd like me to answer? How about China?

What I was trying to say was that I am going to fly to the USA in summer. I will be making footpaths and working on eroded river-banks, living in a tent, with a group of Americans. I will not get paid for it, but I'll have my expenses covered, and that's great for an opportunity to practise my English.

Well, it's almost time to go. The students are waiting. It's always a pleasure to hear from you, Love,

Eva

Dear Eva,

:)I always enjoy your letter, I think you are born a teacher, each time I get the power from your word. Many friends think me as a sunshine girl at the first time while seldom know what I think inside. the man I have told you come from Australia,he is a new client that found our company from websize , and write e-mail to ask whether he can visit our company when he stay at china, of course he is welcome.yet I don't know whether he would come or not, he didn't reply! maybe is surprise that I have seldom chance to touch the foreigner, chat face to face for a long time in live, during my college, only one suject was teach by foreigner , and so many students that I have few chance to communicate with this teacher. sounds a regret, yet if it have nothing to do with english, maybe I never touch with foreigner just like other chinese, never use my english. But now I meet this chance, I will gaspe it well.

hehe, thank you for your kind story about your country. when my college, my teacher told me that Australia is a beautiful country, with a large grasslands, green all the year, I can smell the clean air and blue sky, like the scene of fairy,I really looking forward to such living condition.
Yes, Australia is a good country to living, yet China has large population, there has some difficult in management, that lead to many crime cases, so you can't feel safe as your country.

China is a devoloping country, the form of economic change from agriculture to Industry. since the economic and plitics under reforming, there are many socity problem need to settle by the government, crime increesing, yet China is a large country with population, the govenment feel headache with all continuous problem and people's complain! and people always suffer by such reform.that's the tragedy of the human.

hehe, that sounds great, you do what you like, even without pay,yet you can experience much interesting story in USA,admire so much, I will glad to share it!

weekend come again!have a good day!

Dear Cute Cat,

I'm sorry I haven't gotten round to responding any earlier, but last weekend was a long holiday weekend and we were off kayaking. When I got back, there were piles and piles of papers to grade, and I had to get a move on.

You must be excited about meeting up with that Australian prospective customer of yours! I suppose I would be worried in case he were talking too fast, and using a lot of slang if I were you. It's tough when your exposure to English accents and real-life speech is limited.

We hear a lot here about the Chinese economy being dynamic, and about changes going on. People tell me that houses are springing up all over the place, and that the country is on the move. Companies are trying to get into the market, and there seems to be an enormous potential. Are there any restrictions still in place, or are you free to use the internet in any way you want, communicating with whoever you want?

Well, please don't be cross with me cause I've been a bit slow in writing back, all the best, Eva

Dear CuteCat,

Congratulations on the contract with the Dutch Customer! There's nothing like success when it comes to boosting your confidence, and I'm really glad that everything turned out well for you!

It's been a while for me since I've been away kayaking - and I was delighted when I saw you had returned. I'd thought you'd gone off into sunset of cyberspace, and was missing you.

The weather was horrendous, cold, torrential rains, snow on the mountains, temperatures around 10 degrees, definitely not what you'd call summer, I suppose. But the rivers were full of water, and it was a challenge, and when you get wet anyway, it doesn't matter all that much where the water comes from.

I had a chance to speak English, would you believe? I met two girls, one from Malaysia and one from New Orleans who were selling beer at the campground and who found the weather quite off-putting too, though. They were happy to run into someone that would make an effort to talk to them, and it was quite interesting to hear what they had to say. They didn't try kayaking, though.

Well, a couple more days, and then I'll go hiking and climbing in the Alps for a few days. It's the time of the year when everybody wishes he or she could be a teacher. Internet access will remain sporadic for me, though, until September or so, and I hope I'll see you around.

All the best on your upcoming decision, Cute Cat!

Any way, we are all the human and born in this world, so we will find the common interest and topic to discuss!
