Help please!
Can anyone shoot me a copy of a solid offer letter and contract (Polish & English versions)?
N I don't want to be nosy, nor am I on some super-secret stealth mission to determine competitive positioning. Please blank off any dollar amount, school name and other identifying information. I just want to do a basic contract and offer letter. Leaving an underlined area and quick explanation of what went there would be a plus.
It can be in the text of a PM, I just want to cut and paste it over onto a clean sheet so different names, amounts, some term changes and, of course, a new stamp can hit it.
It would be appreciated. |

Can't help you with an offer letter (is there any standard for these things in Poland?) - but with a contract - what kind are you looking for? |

I don't need it for the form as much as the Polish grammar. We can fill in the blanks with names, amounts and conditions, etc. It was just having something reasonably written that we were looking for.
Same with the contract. Just need a Polish one that we can fill in our own information.
Just saving paying a translator to write me a letter and translate a contract. Not that picky. |

No, you have to be picky - a contract in Polish law can be one of several things (umowa o prace, umowa zlecenia, etc) - each of which have significant implications if you use it. |

Sorry, thought it was understood that I meant an employment contract that would go with the invitation letter offering a job. |

You, my friend, are treading on some very thin ice here and can wind up in a world of legal and financial trouble.
Why are you playing around with employment contracts when you haven't even a clue? |

I kind of have to agree... What, are you trying to employ someone without really even knowing about the types of employment? How will you navigate the paperwork without knowing Polish? If you were more specific, maybe people could help you more. |

Interesting.
It was just a simple question which has nothing to do with any of the responses so far.
A question for TEFL teachers asking if anyone could share their offer letter and employment contract.
No problem, will take care of it on my own (it's only money) thanks for the help guys. |

Mountains..... Molehills |
Taken from the other thread - you were the author I believe.
Only in this case what you think is a molehill is actually a mountain. As others have tried to communicate above there is no such thing as a 'contract' in Poland. There are various types of contract for various purposes and if you have a contract for one thing which doesn't cover the activity you are doing/the person you're employing will be doing you'll end up in a potential whole load of poop.
You can of course put your head in the sand and pretend that Polish tax, zus and the civil code doesn't apply to you and get defensive or you could ask a few pertinent questions and you might get some help. |

Yeah, mountains and molehills are what happens when you carry baggage and waste time trying to sue over relatively trivial amounts of money in a foreign country.
It's advice based on watching guys and gals bluster for years in the FSU. If you want to spend your time suing someone over a months salary good luck and I sincerely wish you the best.
As for my "head in the sand"....
No, I have all that information but wanted a sample contract (written in Polish) offer from a school. Unfortunately, I'll be paying a lawyer for a draft process, paying a translator and such since I couldn't get my own sample. But hey, as I said, it's only money.
It's okay though, we'll take care of it.
Thanks. |

You forgot to add "for nothing" at the end of your post.
Again, you evidently have zero information as you still don't understand that there is no such thing as an "employment contract" in Poland. I have a million contracts in front of my face, which do you want, umowa o dzielo, umowa o zlecenie, umowa o wspolpracy miedzy dzialnosciami, umowa o pracy, umowa o pracy na okres probnym, are you hiring a student, retired person or war veteran, or someone under 18, what type of work is involved, where is it going to be, what are the hours and conditions... ja pierdole baranie zaraz sie tak wpakujesz ze sie nie pozbierasz przez 20 lat. |

The thing is - a lawyer will ask you exactly the same question as to what form of contract. There's no simple answer - as said here -

you need to understand the different types of contracts and how they apply in Poland. It really isn't so simple as to give a contract - unlike many other countries, Poland has very specific terminology used in this area - and you have to use the right contract with the right person. There are some severe implications if you get it wrong - not just with taxation.
For instance, you can lower an individual's tax rate to an effective 9.5% if it's for English teaching through some clever scheming. But do you know how to fill the contract in properly (and what records to keep) to avoid investigation by the tax office?
I can happily send you a copy of whatever you need, as can others on this forum - but you need to understand Polish contract law first. |
