I know this is a requirement to teach in China. Is it acceptable to have at least 2 yrs. working experience that is PT? I have teaching/tutoring experience and will be awarded a 120 hour TEFL certificate.
I have a BA degree and am a US citizen.
Thank you! |

Don't ask. Don't tell. You have 2 years experience. Great. |

Not all provinces require two years teaching experience to obtain a working visa. |

Just put down that you did a few years of peer tutoring in high school or training at the workplace.
Unless you're planning to work in Beijing or Shanghai at some heavy strict place, you're fine. |

If you can add 'Caucasian' to those creds you're a shoo in.
Look at provincial level schools rather than hard core Shanghai or BJ. |

Hehe. But I did see a school that requested a 'Black' teacher. For a basketball program. Gotta love it. |

Gotta love the Chinese, indeed. About as subtle as a sledgehammer blow to the cranium.
Good ole fashioned stereotypes...silliness prevails in Our China.
