I might have missedp it, but you can't have a thread about Japan and France without mentioning Paris syndrome

Wonder if that has more to do with the Japanese than the French.

Well you can't blame the French for being French.

It's like how you have all those articles about Strange Japan. People just believe what they're told usually[/img]

I've met alot of Japanese people here who would absolutely mortified by the levels of hygiene in France, and I'm saying that as someone who only changes his trousers once a week

One way that the Japanese are not like the French - in fact the polar opposite is with perfume wearing.

Now that you mention it, I don't remember smelling any fragrance on people in Japan. I guess that's where the affectation ends.

I will blame the French any time I get.

Seriously though, I suspect the hygiene is a massive turnoff. As the Japanese really take personal grooming and BO to OCD levels. I bet a lot of these naive Japanese housewives, with only romance books knowledge of France have it the hardest.

Then there is Paris Syndrome.

I was an exchange student in the south of France. I could only take a bath once a week. I was told to use cologne.
The food and champagne was good.
