Could anyone sum up the Chinese national character in 15 words?

Yeah, I know about stereotypes etc. Just do it, damn you.

Thanks!

It's the colour they came out after they were dipped in white paint that was made in China.

OK, maybe the 'damn you' was a little rude.

Any serious respones? Anything that you think sums 'them' up in a nutshell? (see stereotypes disclaimer above).

gracias

the good ones are sweet, funny, clever, playful and love to eat, sleep, play games, and are very sentimental.

the bad ones have no moral compass; they spit, steal, lie, cheat etc.

the ugly . They are self-rightious, narrow-minded, dogmatic.

They are sweet people but when the chips are down (SARS) they will quickly turn on us foreign devils. (Sorry that is 19 words.)

With most matters, what you see is definitely not what you get. Expect the unexpected.

Stereotypes, hmm...., not many know this but I think that this common term originally stems from a seminal piece of work by the late Pulitzer prize winning writer Walter Lippmann, entitled Public Opinion published in 1920 or 21 out of NY. Anyway, the Chinese character in 15 words....? Let me instead try to name that tune in one:

1) Untrustworthy

I mean, come on, they don't even trust each other. Why should you trust them? Why do you think people living on the 35th floor still have bars on their windows? In case the window cleaner wants to rob their joint? Come off it! It's because they are afraid of the intentions of their neighbours or their neighbours' guests. If I lived on the 35th floor and my next door neighbour put damn bars on their windows I think I would be really quite offended. But in China it is normal. Very candid.....

I love Chinese people for the fact that they are utterly selfless.
