the bad ones have no moral compass; they spit, steal, lie, cheat etc.
the ugly . They are self-rightious, narrow-minded, dogmatic. |

Stereotypes, hmm...., not many know this but I think that this common term originally stems from a seminal piece of work by the late Pulitzer prize winning writer Walter Lippmann, entitled Public Opinion published in 1920 or 21 out of NY. Anyway, the Chinese character in 15 words....? Let me instead try to name that tune in one:
1) Untrustworthy
I mean, come on, they don't even trust each other. Why should you trust them? Why do you think people living on the 35th floor still have bars on their windows? In case the window cleaner wants to rob their joint? Come off it! It's because they are afraid of the intentions of their neighbours or their neighbours' guests. If I lived on the 35th floor and my next door neighbour put damn bars on their windows I think I would be really quite offended. But in China it is normal. Very candid..... |
