I'll be leaving for Osaka in the spring and I was wondering...Should I just abandon the idea of having a sex life while in Japan?

I've been reading posts in the forums, and the women of Japan seem to have the competition (not-even-remotely-short-foreigners) hemmed up. So, shall I just accept the future lack of action with a smile and a nod, or should I begin a support group for forced-into-celibacy women?

BTW, this question is all in fun. Laughing

I don't know if the OP had a certain type of man in mind, but I was referring to both Japanese and foreign men.

As a man who teaches in Asia I can say, a western woman should have nothing to fear. I've seen white female teachers at my training centre constantly hit on, especially by local men. Hell, I think it's nice having a girl from back home to spend time with... takes the curb off of the culture shock! Very Happy

With the exception of the icky old men who will stare at you with no shame, I find that so far the Japanese guys seem really intimidated by Western girls- not that I have seriously hit on any because I find stimulating conversation a very important factor in a relationship (I teach 8 hours a day and I don't want to come home to someone who I have to speak to like a student). However, when my friends and I go out in clubs the J-guys seem completely shocked when we dance with them and some even a little frightened. And the J-girls give looks that could kill!!! Be careful of the stiletto boots!!

Oh, I agree. The local guys definitely find an interest in "Western" girls. Also had quite a few mothers who wanted to hook me up with their sons. And if you are not into J guys, don't worry cuz there are plenty of other English teachers. There is quite a bit hooking up going on. I think it has something to do with being in a foreign country and experiencing new things creates some sort of bond that often leads to more.
