I was born a British citizen unlike you a British citizenship with a piece of paper I have a passport and my language is English not Indian who wants to have a British citizenship. |

Well, it's not normally in my nature to use other than polite language, but I'd like to use British vernacular in posing a question with replies particularly requested from UK citizens.

Since I've been in Mexico, I noticed that the gov put a pond hockey game on the back of the 5 (or is it the 10?). Put some skates on the Queen and black out one of her teeth for the back of the coins, and I'll come back home just for that! |

I'm from Montreal.
Pond hockey game on the back of the 5... shall I say you're right on the money? (Couldn't help the pun.) If there were some skates on the Queen, a black eye and a few black teeth, the only person that would be more amused than me would be the Quebec separatist.
You still see her head except now she looks like an old fart.

Guy, nobody can dispute that you are a prodigious and helpful poster, and certainly one of the most pleasant people on this forum, but I do have to differ from your opinion and avuncular* nature.
On the China forums - British is being antagonistic, childish and showing the most brazen disregard for all common laws of the English language. The vast majority of people believe he is using Chinglish (a hideous Sino-English amalgam of words and grammar) and considering that we live in this large chicken-shaped country - we have more experience of identifying Chinese students and their style of English. You don't know about Chinese students, same as I don't know about Mexican students. HE IS NOT REAL.
Back in November 2004 he was spotted and shot down. If we alllow mountebanks to penetrate this site, then the floodgates will open. British should go to the Students' Forum, where his peers could rectify his lack of English skills.
Would you like to see a Mexican student masquerading as a Canadian, while displaying atrocious manners and linguistic skills? I doubt it.
British actually stated he is 'testing' us. The mere notion that this individual who shows pillock-like qualities and an astonishing lack of intellect could test us, is one of the funniest (albeit unintentionally) things I have ever read on this forum.
* I have no idea what this means, but just wanted to show that I can spell it. |

That sums it up. I thank you for the compliments. I don't particpate in the China forum, as it is far out of my domain. I really just like to hear from anyone and everyone, not caring who posts. I haven't taken a position one way or another on this thead you'll please note, and don't care to.
If British says hello to me, I say hello back...that's all. If you are familiar with the Moonraven in my neck of the woods, the Latin America forum, you'll see it's the same. If the Brit is a pretender, then what a show he/she is putting on...what valiant gaul in the face of so much opposition! If he/she is truthful in his/her place of origin, then what guts, what stamina he/she has in defending him or herself! Either way, I'm enjoying the display of spirit.
I find this all immensely educational...I would actually enjoy seeing a Mexican cavort on this forum as a Canadian...I would revel in the exchange. I tend to try and shoot down posers of a different nature, but that's left to other threads...
ShapeShifter, I enjoy your posts...you have a nice insight and are very informative. But in the end, what does it matter who British is?
