Without a degree you will be doomed to working illegally with low pay and poor conditions and have no job security. Or what we call working in a language school.

that's what you call it ML. Others call it a profession. Other professions require a univ degree. Half a degree is not enough, with or without experience.

Do you think thats its better to come to Istanbul and look for a job? I'm in London at the moment and finding it difficult to find a job from here even though I have a degree and a celta certificate.

If you follow up job vacancies posted on sites like tefl.com with an application directly to the school, you shouldn't have any problems securing a job from outside Turkey. The DOS of the school will arrange a convenient time with you for a phone interview, and then it's really up to you to do a good impression and get the job.

But you said on this forum that you employ teachers without degrees if they have a lot of experience. You were willing to interview degreeless Adrian. Yes Mark/Adrian/31/elmekparasi, I agreed to interview him but I did not agree to hire him. When people like that (if they are real and not troublemakers like you) I can interview them and advise them on what they should do to be employable. That is my privilege as a PROFESSIONAL in this field.

Very Happy

You were going to interview him not for a job but to advise him on the career that he doesn't have. Perhaps you could give the same advice to one of your DOSes who is degreeless.

Yes, degrees ARE important, but surely 11 years' experience in the TEFL world must mean something.
