ABC Poza Rica is an up front professional Language school. I work there, I live here in Poza Rica, sure it isn't Cancun. The people are wonderful, it is safe, hot and humid it is for sure. People who put down ABC and Poza Rica and doing so for a reason usually because they have been fired for whatever reason ( drugs, drink problems, unprofessional conduct,etc..) Sour grapes rights a bell, or are you working on your own agenda..... " cloak and dagger". Pixie 8.

Work visas are done
Accomadation is given
Wages are paid.
Contracts are signed.

Teachers have been fired for good reasons and teachers have stayed for good reasons also.

It is so easy to make this forum a moan and whing line. We make life positive or negative for ourselves. Open minds,clear heads should rule the day. I am glad I came to mexico and it has been a rewarding experience. I had my ups and downs along the way I worked in hell holes and great schools ( all part of the journey). When it comes down to it I made it what it is. As the song says "No regrets no tears goodbye" This is for the negative and bitter out there "move on". It is so easy to blame everybody else but you know you made it what it is, like it or not

Perhaps the best advice might be to do your research carefully before going to a new school.

Yes, I would echo that too. It�s a very good idea to visit a school before agreeing to any kind of commitment, but I guess that�s not always possible. We always invite any interested teachers to come and visit our school, sit in on lessons and speak to the other teachers. It lets us have a look at them too as it�s a two way process.

It�s frustrating when other members post bitter, false and potentially damaging accusations about other schools. Who do you believe? That�s the disadvantage with some forums I guess

I realize it might make my life a little more difficult, but I refuse to hire someone unless I have me them in person. The only exception to that rule is if they are transferring from another one of our branches and has the 5-star designation of the director/AC.

Playadelsoul and others, what are some of the things that turn you off about a teacher applicant? (1) with in-person interviews, (2) with resumes

what are the things you look for in a prospective teacher when serious about hiring?

perhaps this will be helpful to many who will be looking for jobs in the near future in Mexico
