After wasting two days running aound Tokyo, I thought I would post some information to help the next guy.
I looked all around for an HP adaptor for my PC, BIC Camera, local computer shop, Akihabara etc. After being told I could only order the adapter online, then that Japan doesn't carry this model and that Canada doesn't ship overseas. Blah Blag Blah
I took my PC with me and went back again hoping to get an IBM adapter that might work as I needed my PC asap. Well Finally after three more hours of looking I found a shop close to Akihabara station that advertises English service(I went to this place the first time too) and a helpful, knowledgable young man showed me an adapter that you can use with any pc for 1/3 the price of an adapters at BIC Camera.
So if you are stuck go to this place! |

You turn right out of the station and walk on the right side of the street to the corner it is the last shop with a big sign saying English Computers. It is only a minute or 2 from the station. |

Thanx Ava77, I might try it for an adaptor that has been giving me trouble, though I am afraid it is a discontinued model (Gateway) in Japan. |
