Anyone else see UFO last night?

Seriously, we were by the coast at Bostanci and everyone suddenly looked at the sky because a ball of light came hurtling past.

It was like a clear ball with flames inside and moving fast. Gradually it gained height and eventually became too small to see (by which time the concentration span of all Turkish onlookers and photographers had long been exhausted).

I don't know what the explanation could be - perhaps some scientific experiment.

Doesn't Baba Alex live round that way. Maybe it was one of his massive farts?

I hadn't drunk anything stronger than a cup of cay I promise. I discussed this with my students but they couldn't think of any explanation other than some sort of test. None of them saw it and there was no coverage in the paper as far as I know although some mention on the net.

Bizarre...
