Exactly
a lot of companies have regional head offices in places like Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong or even the US or Europe and their managers, auditors, technicians come in and out all the time, sometimes as much as once a week. They always have a current visa, enabling them to travel at any time.
The gov knows when you enter but doesn't know when you leave without looking at your passport, that's why they could refuse extension or renewal 'in-country' but with a visa-acceptance letter and 'Visa on Arrival' they don't see your passport so imagine you are out of Vietnam, and after all, if you have a foreign email address, a credit card, a foreign home address and arriving by plane, you're not likely to be a Chinese 'ghost' worker but someone bringing some lovely dollars with you.
They would have to equip ALL border crossings and consulates and embassies with hi-speed IT systems along with a national data base to enforce a maximum number of days rule- Tell that to the little man in Snookyville who has been dishing out 6 month B3s until a couple of weeks ago and he'd fall about laughing.
The new decree that many are worried about is if you are caught working without a WP for 3 months in a six month period, well then, quite rightly you would not be given another VISA. |

That's a pretty cool website, actually. Thanks for posting. Better if you pay, evidently. Bookmarked.
Beating the dead horse at this point, but to echo Londo, this boils down to enforcement, to a large degree. Not totally, but to a large degree. Enforcing immigration is probably like enforcing motorbike laws -- in practice, they're more "suggestions," though an official *could* put the hammer down at any random time. There's more than one way to skin a cat. |

| Look it costs $10 to extend your visa for 90 days IF you have a work permit as I posted elsewhere and you do not have to leave the country. Simply fill out the visa extension form from immigration, have your employer stamp it and go to the immigration office with form and copy of WP. hell even if you dont have a WP you can bluff your way and say you have applied for it. Worked for friend of mine. This is cheaper than a 1 year visa. |

a. This includes a 6-month grace period beginning July 1.
b. "The decree is null and void to any infringements in the areas of vocational training, sending of laborers abroad under contracts, and social insurance. "

Was a 1 year business visa or 5 year certificate of visa exemption (for us Tays married to Viets). My friend only had a 6 month business visa and did the same thing |
