He's been searching all over the web for this individual...his ex-wife, it would seem. E.g., see this thread here:
http://www.japanforum.com/forum/general-discussion/35118-lost-friend.html
As others have told you, your best bet would be to convince her parents to give out this information to you. That you have contacted them repeatedly with no answer from your ex-wife (even if they did not understand your English exactly, they would have at least told their daughter that a foreigner named Chris Rose called) is your answer, I'm afraid. |

I've seen them, too. And some of the messages are a little concerning.
In at least one post which I will not spread around by posting here, you actually did share some info about her that perhaps she wouldn't appreciate having plastered on public forums where people close to her might come across it.
And some of them as well as seeming the words of an unstable stalker, reek of emotional blackmail. Take this one for example http://oldclassifieds.metropolis.co.jp/viewAd,43132.htm
Then this one kind of implies that you have already been given your answer: http://www.flickr.com/people/christopher_rose/
Has it not occured to you that her parents reluctance to pass on your details is thanks to this woman's wishes? Perhaps she doesn't want to have any contact with you at all, not even to tell you to stop looking for her. It might be due to custom, the fact that she simply doesn't like you anymore, that she feels uncomfortable and doesn't want to risk giving you anything that could be used to track her down, or out of respect for a new partner... I'm pretty sure that if she had wanted to stay in contact with you, you would already have her new contact details.
Do yourself a favour: Get the professional help you have already admitted you need and move on with your life. And think about how your current wife; how will she feel if she finds out you are obsessing over you ex-wife? |

Creepy?
Nice comment.
She was my wife. We seperated 17 years ago. Recently I have had some health prolems. I came accorss some opld pictures and all the emotons came flooding back, so I decided to contact her parents.
Alas they dont' speak English ad I dont' speak Japanese. I just want to know if she would be would like to talk and catch up.
I can't really think of any other options for trying to contact her due to the language barrier and the fact I only have her parnets contact number and they won't pass on my contact details to her.
Think what you like, but try to avoid insuting comments or passing judgements.
With regards,
Chris |

| Wouldn't it be easiest to just get a Japanese person to contact her parents by proxy? Surely you can find a Japanese person somewhere. |

Yup, creepy. It's not insulting; it's us telling you how it's coming across.
If you just want to catch up and you know her parents phone number (& presumably address) then just write a letter, address it care of her parents and send it to her. They can pass it on for you. If she responds, great. If not, you've got your answer. |
